Glass Neanderthal

Sächsisches Landesmuseum für Archäologie – SMAC

The staging “research laboratory” at the Saxon State Museum of Archaeology in Chemnitz focuses on the transition from Neanderthals to modern humans. We have built a free-standing Neanderthal skeleton with organs and a glass skin. What is unusual about this installation are the bones, which are illuminated from the inside and can be selected by visitors in the interactive station of the exhibition, making the difference to the skeleton of Homo sapiens visible.
